I’m a feminist, but I think that romance has been taken away a bit for my generation. I think what people connect with in novels is this idea of an overpowering, encompassing love - and it being more important and special than anything and everything else.
“I want her to understand how far she’s come from where she started and what that’s done to the people around her, who she - who I think she does love, somewhat; she does, she just can’t deal with it anymore. And I want her to rediscover all those relationships, because I think it would be an amazing point in the story for her, to see on her face what she’s done”
